Viewer Email: Google Search Re-direct Malware

Aaron had more to add on the Google re-directing malware. He says it's "likely the TDSS rootkit. It's been infecting/patching the storage drivers and all sorts of nastiness. There's a free tool from Kaspersky called TDSSKiller which can also nuke this thing from orbit. Malware lately has been getting more interesting. I've seen rootkits infecting drivers and then masking themselves from the OS for a while now but also lately seen them inserting a scheduled task on the system so it will reinfect itself at a later date." Run security software and keep it updated, people!
