Really loving the show. A Question about Front-Row on the MAC. Some podcasts/tv-shows are not widescreen, and my TV is. Is there a way to make it always fit to screen the image? A Hack? I already sent this request to Apple, but you know Apple. ;-)

A easy and free way to manage ripped dvd collection.

It's a pretty awesome program. using it on my HTPC in my living room and it works flawlessly for movies. Something I would suggest doing is keeping ripped DVD's in a separate folder from your other video files, and only allowing MyMovies to monitor the DVD folder. Otherwise, if you have a large collection of other videos, it'll spend hours finding all the info for those.

Another tip is to enable DVD gallery , so the "play DVD" option in the "TV + Movies" column gets replaced by a "DVD Library" button, this way you can access your ripped DVD's more quickly and easily than through MyMovies.

It does require changing a registry value, so be careful, or if you're worried you might screw something up, then don't do it.

Hey about a month or so ago they have a free utility that would analyze the files and folders on your Vista machine and show you the files and folder sizes. It would show it in all kinds of graphs. Anybody remember the name of it?

Office Suite Alternatives

You aren't a student by chance, are you? Office 2007 Ultimate can be had for $60 (if you are a student) starting again in a couple weeks.

I've a Vista gaming machine, but spend most of my time in Linux; Open Office is slow and shitty. AbiWord is feature-light, but quick. On my laptop running Linux Mint 5, I've installed XP in a virtual machine using Virtualbox, just so I can run Office 2007.

Really, though, nothing approaches Office 2007.

OK, fixed the bootloader. The Vista repair didn't work , but EasyBCD was installed and fixed the bootloader all in about 5 minutes total. Definitely thanks for the tip LnxPenguin4Ever, I've heard about EasyBCD in passing but woulda never remembered it without your post. This thread is officially unneeded, at least by me. Thanks guys.
