802.11n Router Suggestions: Fon, Linksys, Netgear

Ryan's had a chance to get hands on with Fon's Fonera 2.0 802.11n Router, which packs a ridiculous set of features (YouTube and Flickr uploaders, a built in BitTorrent client, USB for a 3G modem, USB drives and printers, even Twitter status updates! ) along with the promise of generating revenue if you create a FON spot.

Patrick checked the epic Wireless Chartsover at SmallNetBuilder.com and went with the best dual band router he could find locally, the Linksys WRT610N Simultaneous Dual-N Band Wireless Router.

And, about two weeks ago, the NETGEAR WNDR3700 RangeMax Dual Band Wireless-N Gigabit Router hit the streets... which delivers much better thoughput in weaker signal locations than the WRT610N, at least on the 2.4GHz radio... if you have a bunch of high bandwidth users, going 802.11n could be a boon for network performance!
