Whether they come in peace or as invaders, we have the songs for the inevitable extraterrestrial arrival.

We watch television and movies. We know the aliens are coming. We just don't know when and we don't know if they'll be hostile

So it's best to be prepared. And one essential to any alien invasion is the appropriate welcome music. I asked the people of the Internet to recommend which songs we should prepare on our welcome playlist.

Some are very welcoming. Some come with a warning. But all fit the bill of setting that right mood for our alien mix tape.
