Fwequent - Red Dead Redemption, MacGruber, a MacGyver movie?

Monday, May 24th, 2010 – running time 47:37
We cowboy up for Rockstar Games' Red Dead Redemption. Can MacGruber craft a good movie out of chewing gum, and ball of twine, and a 2 minute SNL sketch? What's this about a real MacGyver movie?

Segments

Movies

This history of SNL sketch characters transitioning to film has been good (Wayne's World, Blues Brothers) and bad (Ladies Man, Stuart Saves his Family). The newest attempt is MacGruber, a send-up of 80's action heroes from Will Forte. Do Alex, Dan, and Jeff find laughs in the material, or is there no way for them to diffuse this bomb?

Now that MacGruber has parodied MacGyver, there is news of a true, unironic adaptation of the 80's Richard Dean Anderson show. Can the guys see this project going well?

Video Games

Rockstar Games created the open-word sandbox mayhem genre with Grand Theft Auto. Now they take the template and apply it to the wild, wild west with Red Dead Redemption. It is easily one of the largest, most ambitious games on the market... but is it fun? Alex, Dan, and Jeff ride off into the sunset to find out.

Click It Or Ticket:

Guys, it's a fact, men are less likely than women to buckle up. In 2008, 66 percent of male drivers and 74 percent of male passengers 18 to 34 killed in passenger vehicles were NOT wearing their seat belts. Don't become a statistic...wear a freaking seatbelt.

ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT! Two thirds of people who die in accidents at night are not buckled up. You may be a safe driver but you do not know who is out there...it's not cool to not wear it.

The police will be out in force over Memorial weekend. Hundreds of State and local law enforcement and highway safety officials across the Nation will participate in Click It or Ticket 2010 from May 24 to June 6. They will be looking for you, day and night, and making sure that everyone is buckled up.
