Military viewers of the show us all do you think you for your service we -- in Nevada today just happened in and you know it's a great time to reflect and say thanks for now. Most definitely most -- my god he's got a guy by trailing people. And -- are still very good and amazing Melissa yeah about it."

" As we get new movies we are talking about 32. And and pirate radio let's start with 32. Well is that both had to do water and good. There's water in them. So. 32. Comes from the director -- camera Q what I've tackled. Again in the world Viet aliens with Independence Day in in the world would be out polar ice caps melting via a day after tomorrow and in the world via. Giant lizard its reptilian creature via. -- a lot of via now. Tackles in the world via the actual end of the world none predict that. So yeah I mean do. Isn't even. Let dad and so. It's funny well I've follows I John Cusack. As a father. Trying to issue look at surviving a different world. Not an easy task again not not easy test that. Jeff I believe I'll start with what did you think it. T.'s 01 tip because as an Yasser album would have had any calls."

" Here's Larry you have to anybody -- favorite."

" I rephrase."

" Pretty much -- here I'll elaborate a little bit audio listeners could you okay."

" That -- and right there are good actors in this trap. John Cusack what do you do we need. Woody Harrelson what are you doing me any lover you're too old appreciates the amount of time and is."

" One of the worst movies I've ever seen and it. I wanted to end so badly and it is still O."

" Long. I bet if you went through this movie minute by minute. Beat by beat action by action and you parse out exactly what is."

" Plots. And what -- is not plausible. Every movies every moment every action you have more and not plausible things that happened in the course this movie then plausible that I'm not even talking like big. But I'm talking like. Dialog choices settings like what --"

" Every single thing it is so spec killer OEMs -- added. Who ridiculous that it it stretches credulity to the point I just wanted to date to end we have -- requisite. Little -- my hands we have I mean it is every cliche of a bad. Movie like this I don't know why someone wanted to make it I don't understand it."

" And just think Alex. Yeah -- is there you have as much. After they're back."

" yeah for acting I mean at."

" And my core Myron you know this is yes that is the exact same thing you know I mean. It went down west of here yeah. Yeah well the crust is starting to break out today because they're limited coordinated and Aurora mine Panama. Yeah I know I'm I think that there are -- see you with interesting little like moments where that -- comic cool. Did not many of them and that's a lot of what first up John Cusack is not that -- in the tractor. Right and that I can get behind the wheel of an inning and survive. Everything falling into the companies know they are. Sitting. So what I really want to it was first off it's shot on my favorite medium which is video. So there's some really great in town Discovery Channel. Moments. But it really especially towards the end when they had the water stops and then the video cameras like security cameras happen to be the exact sound any odds that it really felt like. Zip crap that you watch while waiting in line to go on Universal Studios to."

" And I -- you were really the whole movie Dallek is great it's the us and keep all your valuables senator you know little couch in front area I mean it was really even the point where they made you already -- and -- yeah."

" We're gonna do it was trying to watch CNN. And there's even like university assigns ended jaws shark jumping -- the plane. You know but at the end of the day it happened in the movie they were flying over the Universal Studios."

" I did."

" The jaws jump -- them but. You know that that's -- yeah."

" And that's the boss is cool but I won't say this up here we're gonna take off drama Santa Monica airport. It takes off into the ocean. So you don't have to move back through falling back scatter rises."

" If you wanna just escape just and it's out all right maybe that's me -- fashioned black and logical."

" Time is that America is I loved. This you do not okay okay -- now there's no irony here I did it seems irony. I loved it. On -- and let me just say this I many small club of people bet. Things like should she show we appreciate you what appears to have your -- estimate motor my favorite movies of all kinds deep impact and I'm -- I'm excited I'm I'm I'm when I'm blown by you guys are exactly but but I think isn't isn't the whole review here in the but so I what is going to be a little lake like this is gonna puke all over deep impact and and I think -- was ruined by that summer of Armageddon in need can be you know whenever. Indeed it is okay I I I am not cried as much during a movie except until it. And -- the existence of no yeah."

" I had world has gone out so early so this this man is now deemed -- back in in every positive way and that. We we -- to have that you know and I think this is one of the most unique movies. And -- me if had a don't -- it has just enough. All month. All logic. And it. And storing character to be a movie. But for the most part is it is you know everything they can't ever seen about a film talks about not this -- a rollercoaster resident. This movie is -- roller coaster in net. Did they I mean the only thing missing as you run a Universal City sort is that our seats weren't moving I mean it really knows there's no never any real danger of -- just dirt into the real. But they're never actually -- no no one is everyone's safe the whole time that's a good yeah I. And -- everybody can have a movie with this because Oklahoma you can't have a movie witnessed much devastation and destruction and this is. All of those disaster movies that I mentioned previously -- Bob and Jillian it's like. As -- won't -- you know we keep with your spirit action figures and take you -- together exactly what did that -- the world and that is just such a joy. To -- so cold I compile. I disagree with the --"

" just specifically that that -- as someone and I he didn't bring it down to this level but as someone who lived through Loma Prieta. Earthquake in 89 and like all of us live vicariously through 2000. One in September 11 2001 even if we went in New York."

" I don't like why don't why should I root for these characters when I'm watching. Hundreds and thousands by people who die in every frame of this film I don't."

" I think we'll get whose comedic campy movie you didn't definition until this -- can't be is complete. It takes itself so seriously it's like -- sends -- mental -- You know like I didn't I don't doing that and I think I think that's what makes this special is that."

" It really is. Fine you know deep impact takes itself seriously incentives matter and he liked to do is compare the presidential address sequence is in deep impact. With -- Morgan Freeman and this with Danny Glover and."

" This is very hokey and cheesy -- I don't think it's heading off to make anyone."

" Well op as deeply impacted in being a sincere human moment this was like cheesy fun."

" I'm and I think I don't I don't I don't think they were shooting for that which is -- didn't I didn't hit with paying I think they were shooting for honesty and."

" And it goes back to it yeah I'm not a movie and they said I mean amid talk comment -- that I mean it's it's it's."

" I think they saw I was stuck it on anyone in the middle and rousing. -- patriotic."

" You know -- that that speech at the end -- them and let more people on an end up many more of the billionaires. Then screw the whole planet."

" We don't want does for people would diet yet we're not gonna let every anybody else on except for people who go for coming out -- I this is a moves into his bags and not be bomb reviewed LA."

" Did not tonight attach any real world let me ask you to not -- plunged to the things the moment that have been. You know I don't want us -- and I'm not the Bruins Madonna is the way people survive that's -- no one's ever really in any danger is that the things that are happening are so unrealistic and and I think today. And I -- what I I don't Contra go whoa I loved it I love that I didn't have to be tied to realism was that it was everything I mean you you can't and then there's as you said -- airport doesn't launch and that there I mean he has great so when -- impacted -- about I think I'd like to give -- back. That may be ruined by that logic because it is being sincere and trying to. -- human emotion this movie is trying huge thrill me and I haven't I usually I. It's only moments I don't remember really enjoy hello Wayne escape being that much devastation in neck and a Star Wars the end -- sequence I won't even enjoy that. If you took itself seriously because then it's upsetting I mean that's exactly my position but -- he asked me to be -- by asking to be thrilled by it. Anyway well you may not. Talking about getting serious. Something I never ever been shocked on the show like that I'd ever Gaffney didn't you blue -- line. And just thing. So. Moving on to you too serious subject matter. In we have our first bomb on our show rule by a review of a movie that's a potential Oscar and we're getting two awards season. Com there's been lots and it is and I think. Well masters will polity in knots I know -- awards season now I'll of those -- So. A movie that was one point title something that. Sounds like it would be nominated for an Oscar the boat that rocked I mean there's another reason I don't much better title actually I agree completely has now called pirate radio. And this is from Richard Curtis. Do I wrote four weddings and funeral and nodding hill and directed one of my favorite movies of all time and I think the best romantic comedy. Love it actually. -- to give you props and have been. Very. Harsh today. I'm gonna look actually I had made annualized. And I and I were really really does you know it's great to meet him so. He returns is this love actually win it. Pirate radio the entire radio ensemble cast. Top -- by Philip Seymour Hoffman in Assam though Richard Curtis regulars. And did. Eaten at frost from John and DA didn't die and they play. These -- jockeys from Islam base say stuff true events. That happened in the sixties they're not a true story Mary Lou sounds I think everybody -- events. It -- August was outlawed in the sixties in England. And he's -- these. Ronald DJ's. Took to the shores and it can be off of England's shores and broadcast. -- all music. And the movies are we where we enter this boat where they are a young kid he's gonna be an existing on this off on the boat we need all these this cast of characters ask these DJ is. Jeff what did you think of pirate radio. Well -- on both movies interest and it's really all I'm not that could mean I'm gonna keep -- now -- guides here."

" Leo it's really hard not opted not to have a good time in this movie because. The characters the actors who played them the people the camaraderie it it feels like a party. It feels like you were aghast at this off some. Party where these guys. That's how fun all the time the soundtrack to this movie is phenomenal. Regardless of whether some of the songs are actually appropriate to exact year that can set this movies -- but it's still a really great soundtrack in the music it permeates the film. And all the people that you meet our. Always having fun and -- anybody at the last -- which is there's never a sense of danger this review I really felt like there's never a sense of danger there's never even when things get a little dangerous toward the end. It doesn't it's just about having a great time -- these people and -- all you know. And for that I know I just had a great couple hours at are it was -- ninety minutes I think now."

" The movie and he did just a good time now yeah I really like this and it was super finest the kind of movie that I have started to warm up seal. You know on me I'm using more on that guy exploding car kind guys they did as Canada but I'd start there really realize there's a lot of really fun stuff to me -- culled from these sort of you know more independent you know fun. Per smaller scale smaller scale comedies and I -- the acting as movies just killer and they just makes you want to be there and sort of those movies that makes you want to. It makes you happy to be a part of moviemaking and even need a little way like it just makes you wanna -- rotten. Do you stuff because it seems like so much fun. And I thought in a script is really grant does is pretty solid there's some really fresh and funny moments. Down some really good emotional times TMI and I look different again and then you know. Some great good. That's a great name -- name that is said that it never gets less funny every time -- amazing."

" And it is Ron says that a lot. That great on yeah. When you think they yeah they're loud explosions are provided I had. He's an -- doesn't say -- is similar -- base somewhere between twelve that. This movie is that utter joy to watch. Andy has the very same thing that you brought up is there's no apparel you know there's no. There's no ten machine it. -- there's no overwhelming sense of ten -- or or any sort of negative TV it's a very positive reminds me. On sink my my favorite movie singing in the rain then also hit. Is this it's about overcoming I didn't. Personal obstacles and everybody but it never nothing's ever that that. So now I just is pleasant to watch -- and Mikey was it just so fun to watch the interpersonal relationships of these characters that you connect with it's kind of like watching -- favorite TV series but you get that way right away in us in this movie. It also reminds me of I have to mention very similar to one of my favorite movies called and I mentioned a lot on the show. -- law version -- spanning all arm which is in just like this movie. That's not a guy who travels to he does not where you live with a bunch of people in a different country. Exchange student and now when he's in college and I'll live together. Anyway and if so it anyway -- it's like I can't think it's watching -- got camp. That's cool you know I like any calls are."

" They said because it this I was gonna say this film the way it plays out if it doesn't feel like. How things happened it feels like how you remember that yes it's you know to."

" Jack Callahan always is it's -- can't always better in your brain and it was a gag I'm an everything is so wonderful all time we're just there isn't crazy and -- and also has."

" Has this very you know should not be tied to any sense of logic very frank castle which hasn't exactly. As I Superfund. It's definitely must him analysts saw it."

" EUE."

" It's."

" So we're going to be talking about modern warfare two in just seconds but we got our hands on the pristine. Asia addition."

" Which got a lot of interest -- things said about it when it was first announced -- comes with it believed functioning. Replica of the night vision goggles. That you use in the game well why they say well that's a year."

" Find out Jennings we thought we'd like to run into the Janet Reno we have we found the darkest place you can find. Our Syria and we're gonna take check these puppies out."

" This is the head. That his sort of funny."

" I didn't realize you had an almost killed at 900 is an innocent and so I'm not as though that's what happens every Christmas couldn't duplicate is Mohawk. In full effect. How their instructions -- should be enough to be just exactly. He -- for them never used goggles as a lifesaving device. -- thanks what are. Why it played I'm drowning don't."

" So we thought. You know we gotta get darker than what can we possibly decades various series of tests that we get you get -- going to put it on any other -- in the dark we can't in the dark. There's gotta be."

" us test we can put it through water like signing these hills yes still are so we looked at how Wikipedia and it's calling someone -- primarily we looked up what it is in the Navy SEALs deal yeah prepare for night night vision test as saying and what we found was they have a lunch -- thing that -- you called."

" Night vision. Dictionary. --"

" What -- us shall be wearing the goggles."

" They will revisit the clear on the card -- they will then you can today commands is pure darkness. How are subject to shouldn't you're off. The item on the card win then -- the night vision goggles is subject to see the world then. View isn't pure darkness you're reminded you gotta lonely these are rendered by a said Dick de. And see if he can guess correctly. What his -- was so we shall see. How. Night vision dictionary."

" Guess it's -- much more comfortable. That's 'cause -- comfortable soldier hello my Internet time. Don't don't turn on pandemic yeah. I don't like Amy should know how does -- Tony nominee cool. -- my game ready for prime time usually take objects like that. Hey is it can you see anything new -- down on top -- life and I -- my hand on switches I don't know whether you're cool sold label only gonna switch the next action against these the end. Can turn on Abu holy crap. Plan that's crazy is you can say yeah I can see full full full on -- he had and I can zero. Are you want to know it's really working on some I got Alex's back suggest guide us. She's not that he's. This is no doubt reception right that's why you seem very disorienting and a little nauseating but that's okay I'm sure. My guess I say the."

" mean really and I almost guess the -- I didn't let you know. I don't know I don't know anybody undergraduate."

" I countered that yeah I'm."

" Now housing and I can be any team and this is like -- on."

" Okay now and then laying on top of this weird monster. I'm so usually does all right day pause -- in the campfire. Doesn't -- long. And the."

" That is horrible man."

" I value in this way you get -- the -- that -- I don't know now you know what I don't ignominious stay with marshmallow on."

" That was super fine turns out that."

" You gotta I think we should or transition back to lighten -- and down and I thought we should try to punch it out and you --"

" Z well good work congratulations to all except for it and -- do have the only thing and mr. Carranza and the."

" To the very first time that we ever awarded game. Video and totally rad video game of the year when transported into -- seventh. I think so we awarded to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare yet here we are a couple years later and we have modern warfare two U. In the interim we had another column -- game but it was not made by the makers of a modern warfare this is the first game that. Infinity ward has made since the first modern warfare and they are sort of the big boys on the block when it comes to you. Intense. Single player. Multiplayer. Shooter. So blew the doors off the record four point seven million copies sold 24 hours. Yes and it and there's something definitely that we -- yeah. You bring up because if you it's some it's almost like why we even talked about this game you probably already have it now right but will blow away in anyway. Another testament to -- is -- on Xbox Live and everybody's like minded people on and they are all playing the same name and a so all of to be. Unduly redundant I will say modern warfare two is a direct sequel the first one in the sense that we have the same characters we have a plot that picks up. -- having acknowledged all the stuff that happened in the first game and it's. Even though you are playing as different people when you play in the first game. The scenario is a direct continuing continuation. This time around the modern war. Comes home so we have a lot of geopolitical. Stuff happening that results in war landing on America's shores. You fight in American suburbs you end up fighting at the White House. It's pretty intense stuff I mean it's so I think intense as the word but I will probably be using a lot in reference in this game and Alex -- What do you think a modern warfare two is this being. Worthy successor to the first in that we all loved so much yeah I think so I think I had a little bit."

" A couple levels all the in the sort of follow low levels which -- from Allah I know Dan is gonna love the -- motif."

" I really actively disliked those levels I like they've just intensely. Difficult."

" And it really caught it in like force adding menus and wanted to force -- totally changed my place now."

" Which is a -- that's when they want -- how when I'm not a not saying is so reflective of what your please so I found in those in the little specifically that I often didn't know where to go yeah there well there's a lot of issues one that was -- go because there are multiple routes to take -- may have been something that. They put -- TT sorts stem the -- it's very on Reynolds which got called in modern warfare want this I don't -- you know folic I should have been. But anyway all of it until those levels. And it'll come through those levels. -- the game itself is just a rollercoaster ride and and not only that they really."

" Help."

" And I mean especially like towards the end and maybe even the last couple seconds on this game."

" You are playing a moment to moment more than you usually Hardenne you know there are a little bit of -- any type of things."

" For the most part when stuff is happening that story driven here in controlling your guy you're you're asked to do certain actions you know click send an example -- they."

" Should -- this is my first. -- they showed of the game where you're literally all your job is in the first a little bit of this is to just -- the law and make sure you walk and I thought I wanna see."

" I was like you can't can't you can't follow ups it was like okay -- and it's really just a story point in enemy that's not a shooter that's happening now. So they've got a lot surroundings immersive it's about -- you next and that. Happened a 100% and once I give over to listen to what it is and they tell you to do and then do that."

" The game is really unbelievable and the graphics are amazing and they're really pushed."

" The three -- through September as -- we are now. And then I -- and you want to let the -- as well in this -- you know the multiplayer is just the vast multiplayer shooter. That exists -- Yeah that they were able to take the things that made us. Go god over the multi polarity -- got a lady got guy in an ecology is the XP me you know finding out when you shots and editing is -- up there had. And it -- streaks down and they blew it out of the water in the auction ended to modify your -- Jason Jews and things it's customizable this -- much more customizable death street is great. And they really -- the XP and T where. You know instead of getting. Five points of view you know help somebody kills somebody or you get ten points if you actually kill them. They really -- up -- being able to get more XT for certain things -- XP for doing challenges and."

" There's so much stuff the united utility guy who just kill you you get extra bonus for payback convened. You know near him kills your friend and and you don't immediately you get a -- and it's like."

" There's so much into this game and that's -- it's still. You know it's still. Suffers from the same state that all multiplayer game suffer from which is they really got to fix a matchmaking stuff I mean you getting games with people who are just liquid death and there's zero on zero funded he had. And it's like well how they can't figure out. That a guy who. Is getting kills with two bullets. Should be massive -- the guy who can't kill anybody in opposite teams in the sand and there's got the computer in situations like this except."

" I mean I mean it's not like. Any gain include other people that's -- as anyplace anywhere and ask well because I don't have a night where you're getting killed the other night where you're awesome yeah we're saying they're."

" Computers it should be able to take some us southerners are you know I don't wanna hear you -- there's also wish I had. There's also -- the human factor people smart thing you know where they won't. Let's start new accounts is that yes there's a lot of the sudden just a Stabile has also brings an Xbox Live seven just."

" There's just huge tax all of rational thought -- yes that's fair and time -- but I don't know it yet."

" This -- Is it -- scene leave getting -- I think -- is like the key -- that was probably on their big white board as they need all the decisions in designing the game. And they wrote it with the non reusable ink so -- have to stay in that. Try to erase exactly is Italian model in mind that's like what you guys but about the bottom level of thought about level BK is. What is one of the coolest things about this gain is that applause with so many other shooters and even games like. Uncharted. Is that it's so mean there's so rinse and repeat in the matter what -- level is. Hi I'm entering a room. And dagger and a state of Florida -- bad guys and ended it and then I and I want and then leave the room that I entered an era when there's bad guys right but the difference in the way I have to play the -- level where are the first level they need you know and then have to play -- the -- level -- we've got to bring this criticism where you didn't want to -- I felt like it. That's how it should feel. In this scenario in net -- is exactly a new glass and you've got or whatever you think that's what I should belittle my god -- and -- and I'm running into -- thing I don't know where to -- you should know where to -- these guys don't know where to -- it's different when they're fighting in Afghanistan and know exactly where to go in your slight -- you know immediate. Very different I don't know maybe credible. But in the same token because that. Was handled so well I was really let down. In this is the south suburbs level. Then it it can't feel like I just there's so much amazing stuff here that was such a great. Story -- there's some great story idea don't expect read on first person shooter. And actually say about that as well. Then I was sort of bummed that it's just had -- racing through -- killing guys there and I felt like they could even be storytelling in these helmets -- the -- does do you. Some really cool story telling stuff because big bother to do it. Or other games we just have a cut scene and you need to you. So about a wiring killing guy or when you error I need you -- your. Underwater. Some ways org or whatever it gliding would have got cuts and -- it wouldn't put a name because it's such a brief moment -- having you controlling that moment. Just makes him the IE in Q what you're doing so much in such a powerful way. -- to -- and because of this I do have one big politicking which is a lot of the story is told in between. The in the -- screening and in this in Damascus happening you're hearing this. -- military general give borders and and -- the suburban level have been out what I was so struck my oh my -- is amazing was -- oh my god. I think I think back what the story was he had the war is now happening right answer phenomenal story. What he -- way to give me that story in it and just oh a narration that I've I've barely knew I'd be paying attention."

" And yeah Iran and him as such a powerful story here let me pick up on that because I think. The baseline of mind reviewed this game is that it's phenomenal -- it's it's impossible. Not to recognize the achievement that this -- it it's great. Okay everyone knows it's great it's getting tens in nine isn't all right okay Brad is great so let's talk about where falls short because. It does fall short a lot and I think. Especially the first half of the game. Many of the missions feel like. Incomplete thoughts might. And there are missions in the game. That really succeed and really fly because they feel like a complete -- from beginning to and one might -- missions -- gain is the oil Derrick. Where you go from their starter -- you go into that situation and you rescue those style hostages and that feels like I eminent. Like we said it and you know famously in the first from the first game a bad ass simulator. You are famously wrote world and yes. Should be sought to yeah US should be 100 someone. So you know like -- like -- these real world situations we hear about these the pirates you know that we -- down by the Navy SEALs you know there are. Bad ass human beings in this world and and when that ship has the -- they're big that's what they do for a living I. And you get to experience feeling like that that is great but there are a lot of missions like you said it. Especially toward the beginning of the game when you're."

" You're thrown into these chaotic."

" Situations."

" And you don't have any contacts and and they're yelling at you and Connecticut does survive and -- he had the -- it tells the Irish -- I -- know what -- it's -- that's over some locations you -- very short and very abbreviated and you -- just as you kind of getting comfortable it's over and that's a shame."

" in the game as a whole kind of -- shorts. What don't you know and then maybe this is just mean but. At a certain point I feel like this game might be too intense. In the sense that. It always feels like it's on eleven. You know it's like it's shouting at me constantly and I wish there was a little bit more. Pacing --"

" Much -- with -- some room that's goes through I was getting the suburban levels that this is such an interesting idea. That I wish I always been all right I know don't know how since they also on those levels that are really kind of like that walking behind the guy should sit -- yeah I -- rat race is a great -- like either -- or and it doesn't actually -- yeah like half life -- But I was into."

" It is a -- it is a very unrealized gain but is the genius kind of on rails where. I doesn't I don't I don't notice that a mother now right it's got its wonderful game design and what's really incredible about the game is. Being achieved -- game play has gained design. In -- but when you what are being it. Cutting it there's ice climbing up done on these or being shot that he did indeed it did and then and then you get you get killed but -- that was part of the story. Yeah David they're they design a game where you have dig get almost dead right for a story they don't. We don't take control out of your hands and read it yet public money and you don't want -- Democrats hard look owner of that."

" Come on purpose right -- play yeah web design yeah I'm also a couple years you about all the multiple stuff really let me ask you can't talk about this game completely. Without talking about some of the big controversies that surrounded and I think it if your very concerned about spoilers then you should probably stick this little portion of the of the rest of the union segment because. We're gonna talk a little more freely about the content of the game. And what the controversy don't start with first is. The big headline which is. There is -- levels when the very beginning of the game where. -- And you know they tell you if you're squeamish and -- are some sense that I suppose is where the use oh fashions get it before us now select yes and we won't even display it for you. And of course that is referring to this mission where you what as a plane has a as a terrorist broad base."

" Sickly yet we earn on Eminem -- New prime minister yeah it's just your -- in Baghdad the waiting to do yes you -- your useless any and it came mass murder of people that -- That or an airport so damn I wanna I wanna talk -- I mean obviously this is. And poster child for what's wrong with -- video games time is it something do you think they went too far. What are your feelings about. That the controversy that it it brings up. Did you feel how did you feel playing until very aggressive -- did you shoot anyone. I didn't see any I've shot you have to -- the cops at the end drives that survived the Writely as you're walking through there's a lot of it has sent -- what he's doing anyone in innocent cannot shoot someone. And I could I did. And then and I felt bad for doing that which is incredible. And so in that sense I think it's succeeded fish yeah -- really. If you give them all the credit you can give them that's the what they are trying to but I wish they did it. Why is I also tried to kill the bad guys read -- after a long time and in the near the resort level. I wish that that the net level could be damaged two ways. And it would be finished in public the way when the Iowa where we requires you -- today and they they could have figured out a way and I I do think it's politics it's it's the president's saying isn't that BioWare would DO. Where -- If you had thought to kill the guys -- date time settings and other women coming and yeah. I don't know what did what is what it was gonna say that to me and denied -- what did you think. Yeah I mean it wasn't."

" You know. The good news is I just sort of went whenever I'm not mean this is obviously just they want in it and you know randomly guild. People and find whatever it's a video now I know I'm not and I know I'm hanging pixels wreck so I had no problem -- like whatever blah blah blah well yeah that but then I really said to myself at the end you know MIA. My fiancee is nephew loves. Loves all of these calls he is about ten now. I I will call his pants and say we should skip this one. And it just because of that and there are a couple other things -- eighteen rated eight innings and send it all again I get that and October but there are games where it says it's eighteen because it -- is twice and you know I mean like gears of -- sorry my sense is any -- a couple of times but didn't they just you killing aliens that -- Then we edit and literally halfway through the sale out loud and he I would never want somebody who wasn't on -- so many games -- light. That's just for the parents were were -- have made. Earmarks on kind of mentality which is perfectly fine and I totally agree with that parent -- but for me that was. It's an Indiana and I went is that went. Do we really need to have this happened I I do you feel like there was anything that happened in this make me you know."

" All that."

" If that level had to happen."

" I couldn't have seen how this game would get and he sat in the way they want you know thing -- it into the night at the -- screens story stuff. Well better -- then I I think that that that episode would've. Landed on you don't better because. There's a crazy story what's happening now was mentioning part of that's gallery fight because -- so outside of this they did this is a poor job of side you've done tonight."

" Think I was very frustrated that. This is exactly what people pointed yeah bright light and it wind want to play in that -- and hope for a for what I got out of that experience I don't think it was worth. Pushing the envelope just for the -- it felt very exploit Tate --"

" I host all but -- I wanna move on Alexis you guys are real quick though because it is important that way did did and animations for people dying dropped the entire team the bad guys is extremely different no way people are dying. In the airport level it is very realistic. The way out and clawing on the ground I mean a heartbreaking and that is stay very important choice they needed that. Those -- are realistic. And well you're shooting bad guys."

" It's not still meant -- Okay did there's a couple of issues only to very quickly and one of them is we've gotten more emails about this and a lot of things. Which is that don't we -- played on the PC but on the PC they took a lot of power out of being able host a multiplayer maps. Are you mean you can't cost your -- basically you can't be. Dedicated server and make your own rules in the game really fast because only 13 thing. Is there anything you guys -- what is."

" I read all the hubbub about it not I'm not sure why do you think -- what is their benefit from control but it's control book. It basically takes control out of the players' hands and saying I wanna make a game where it's all rocket launch -- or what area or. You know -- benefit what he did you can get inside their mind it into infinity -- yeah."

" Then there's never a game where some assist us as -- as. This game blows because there's only rocket launchers and I jumped a thousand feet yes definitely knows it's. -- you can yelling at the console controls Ozzie."

" Yeah of the of the first ones there. Grabs reduce our use graphical quality you can see you could -- how -- predators you wanna basically and it and torture on games and so you are basically control your universe and don't want you actually understand what -- has a lot of people -- think it's justifiable."

" I haven't really made it clear why it is Pacific limited and output -- another reason why one last thing I have to say and it really fast is. I was very very very pests. At the video that came out on the -- very tasteless video that they did about. I can remember The -- how the acronym works out it's like I'm fighting against grenade spam. Add oh yeah yeah yeah get downright. Legitimate if anywhere did it. Well it was put out officially from them that infinity ward is saying it wasn't in turn all that it was a some sort of external. Either way viral added it again it is GAAP and it is so old. Despicable and and I think and it -- and we wanna cover this came on our show. Now okay kind of tourism in I don't. -- it was it was basically. -- And calling people policies further an and that -- and -- am of course is extremely tasteless and I just wanna bring it up because I'm glad they took it down but I wanna bring it up because. It brings the thing that you mentioned in your review which is that like I spend the majority of my time on Xbox Live trying to avoid -- People. Crews use that kind of language anyway -- is not a -- sensitive to language but it is such date that you are terrorists. It's not really no denying that just it's Alex mingling and I'm having problem with contraction yeah he's yeah. But is OJ struggled to find a game what people aren't throwing out epithets and and you end and is being annoying annoying and insulting and it ended in just. Degrading each other. And even making the experience not fund the idea that they would. Endorsed even tacitly that kind of the behavior is actually appalling to me and and it really mean it was a lot of confidence in his studio that constantly puts -- a really excellent."

" We'll tell you the best thing I've found on Xbox Live is the mute button yeah."

" I just anybody says anything and I even think is like that's going to be that annoying guy I just meat and instantly out there who cares."

" I colonialism I mean it's all you ladies do it quickly thing you know early Austin with a musical. Ultimately fantastic game like butter major flaws and and and spoke champagne -- yes. It into me and I got a quick -- and ten cents."

" All right everybody before we -- just fond farewell we do want to thank our sponsors -- sponsors at this amazing Nokia booklet three G in -- Playing around with this bad boy it and one of the things that the salmon is a lot to talk about this thing. Always on Wi-Fi and three -- I didn't quite get what that meant when I started your slugging it I was like. Hey the system is always on so I can't turn off this Andrea yeah Regis yeah. Has 3-D you know what it means is when you turn this computer on it will start connected to the Internet. If you're near Wi-Fi -- Wi-Fi if you're not it don't matter -- three G just so much nicer than mine never got a netbook too and that would prefer this because mine is like. A cracked I have Wi-Fi could not have Wi-Fi right India and if you have any of the stuff that has dial up stuff like -- my old. Notebook had a deal ten sprint. Card but what ends up happening is. You have to go okay well I need to dial up now contract whereas this is just open it up and you're going to be times in the unit which is really great super lightweight two point seven pounds and eager to point 75 points and -- and -- honest it's gorgeous super sexy new at this thing that's crazy thing about this is. Twelve hours of battery life. And it's really twelve solid hours of battery life -- prayers tires I know I'd like Romano who rarely does they're -- people who have reviewed these that I tested it up to ten hours of pure video playback. I mean investment -- business that I'm not I don't fly anywhere where I can't. Just turn on didn't complacent this crazy also -- my out really cause he can and these things 299 with activation through eighteen -- and you have a Nokia dot com slash booklet three G for more information. -- friends. The -- take it downstairs."

" It's not like how can get laid out their mind doing. I didn't show. I did tell you about Squarespace Squarespace is so off some. Totally rad show dot com is on Squarespace all of our web sites are on Squarespace is just cannot and dot com got. And numerous awards. As you -- president -- hey you should really know by now. If you don't know. When -- now. I need also tell you about I mentioned this last week. It is the coolest new innovation from script based and that is an iPhone app. They you can use to do all the things you need to do for your website when you're not near your computer so you can. Publish new new new blog entry -- you can take pictures on your phone. Upload them to your site all from your phone nets lost some of them. You can you can like preview your page first and look and make sure it's all good before you publish it all on your phone. So awesome and it's another way that they're making it really easy money I honestly. Admission admit this but honestly I would never have my own web site. If it was hard yeah I hear you -- I wasn't Squarespace I wouldn't even have a website so they make it so easy that. It's more that you morons like me can guys coming up."

" I am lazy morons it near one of those lazy morons you should use the -- and tariffs in check out. Yeah in order you don't know did you know 10% off you're really don't know enough you should. Help us tomorrow."

" And Europe for -- hours you know all right if you use TRS and you check out you get 10% off the lifetime. Of your order with -- seven exudes you're losing money not doing."

" Hamas and I'm stats tell -- about a brand new sponsor. Tune up on so this is an awesome software. They knew -- install and it automatically opens up in your iTunes I just did this to the net. I'm an automatic you open up my you didn't tell us this chaos I have to thank yeah. So basically what it does is it and you're like me I a lot of my iTunes library is free. ITunes store drags I imported all of all cities including old mix CDs from back in the day. I know a lot you can that no idea what that is and -- But after the mix tapes can mix CDs anyway so a lot of my tracks -- track one track to track dialing eight track once an eight -- Well to not. Goes in and automatically sorts all that crap and I imagine autos and auto magically correct non. And swords ought to give it album art find the exact album when it I don't go through all this for a very quickly and then if it just to double check you can preview it but it's so easy. To just -- that is the right track whatever and it found I mean up and I need a mix of all the old. On TV themes remain how it's serious damage or -- and it Donna although they're all on these disks."

" So let's angelenos are included in that that I mean I think that's sort of like the no brainer yeah why don't want eighteen to -- track one track to but he didn't even cooler -- I didn't foresee it doing is I have like. Ritz. You know light different albums from the same artist but sometimes it's capitalized sometimes it's not -- digital space Atkinson and eight."

" is all that makes it all uniforms so that's all -- really hurt -- insert it's really awesome not only that. One of the best features on this thing is eight gives you win if you click on an -- you hit play on a song. It will then have this info thing that she's on the side that don't give you all did you. Clips on YouTube from this artist how all of the albums that they put out an."

" Knowing that if there aren't tore. If they're in your talent when and where and they could just don't exactly sheriff he clicked on any coming your house I think any."

" A lot of this because I always find out of the men that I like is in town from -- twittered and we're okay."

" Am I -- has been looking at that -- African look at that what this thing. Little literally looks at your entire iTunes library and from that says who's actually on boarding your entire iTunes library amazing -- that I don't --"

" And on the accident obviously if it's 2995. For me a life time."

" You know you've got this news or 1995 per year. By if you use the Cotillard -- when you check out an. -- media dot com. It's 50% off juror yeah actually you don't use that code now get this is it it's easily zoom in here GI RS that's awesome did an amazing."

" amazing all south all we've only got as a result right you should check out there shall do our Revision 3 com slash. Film Bryant they cover all sorts of crazy behind the -- tricks. " Who knows we gonna show we're talking about us. 132. Hire any album and modern warfare."

" You grab the initial -- a -- start a little. Seem very real world. -- Stroke after stroke they know it's only hope."

" works for you okay."

" yeah."

" Add we get done connected with the army tank division and -- bad guys would TRS missile."

" Yes we did I'll we'll email name it's a big modern warfare themed episode I think correct our into the world as we know what they're away. -- that we did you gaming background debut incentives is awesome back to look at us we are never finished. Troopers to -- I have and I am really sure I was barely a man we are majors -- this light. Kick -- Navy SEALs or something. We're -- one point one task for this very clear background so I can't reform talk about modern warfare -- war war war war."

" Mike McDonnell all the."

" And Spanish essence sent an amazing. Mind -- why not just any and of the schalke is a it I did -- commander. And we thought you know veterans day was this past week."

" And modern warfare to it was this week to go check this out I guess in some stuff."

" It only imagine my name is Mike McDonald -- ten million units are now being that it was -- is this past week. And you weren't you among more okay do I decided -- his -- who."

" That's mission."

" Okay okay."

" Right."

" So how crazy my favorite part is is the TRS written on the giant shell casing and -- gets fired in you look like. -- Yeah Afghanistan Georgia veterinarian out. Read read anyway put unfortunately it looked at again as I you -- Medium Iron Man and did -- and a little bit but also is gonna say how great for the process and the due -- the hall La in Astaro war is spoof. And yeah RD DT -- guy that camera -- though they're you they're like they're in huge tank and drilling. Can you over there -- I don't know I had a camera settings for gaming. Our I don't know how we we should say also we have we have. And a number of active.

Great Ep

Great episode as usual.

Just watching Jeff's reaction to Dan's review of 2012 was worth the viewing. The added outtake of the dance at the end...no words

Loved the night vision segment, and I so want to play Night Vision pictionary after watching that.

Haha, Jeff's reaction was great. I couldn't believe it as well. I'm still watching the review though...

I was cracking up at the 2012 review. I did not see that coming. It's rare when the differing opinions between the guys is so drastic, but it makes for an interesting show.

I loved the night vision Pictionary along Dan's crashing helicopter and campfire. That's a pretty crazy collector's edition for a game. I'm surprised that the night vision actually works.

I played through the single player portion of the first Modern Warfare on the PS3. I might do the same for MW2, but that airport mission description kind of put me off to it. I actually haven't read much about the actual single player portion so this is the first I've heard about it. I understand why they did it. It's part of their story-telling method. It was the same way in the first one too.

The discussion about the dedicated server situation on the PC was a little underwhelming. I understand the guys had a time constraint, and could see they were trying to rush things at the end, but it really didn't do the situation justice. I think it may especially have been a little bit misinforming for people who haven't played online on a PC at all. Yes, people like to run dedicated servers so they can run custom rule sets. This mostly relates to things like map rotations, different time limits, etc. and not things like rocket launcher only low gravity servers.

Here are, what I believe, the 3 main reasons people are upset over this. Obviously as mentioned before, no customization. This also means no custom maps. Instead, the only way to get new maps will be buying DLC. Second, everyone generally will have higher ping. Well, except for whoever ends up being the host. Finally, it really diminishes the community. Dedicated servers have a community built around them. People find a server they like, and keep playing there. I would rather play with people I actually know, but becoming friends with people on a good dedicated server is the next best thing.

I like the idea of matchmaking. I think it could be wonderful, but I would rather have a choice between using matchmaking or manually picking a dedicated server. Better yet, a mixture of both. Only having a peer to peer setup also plays into a kind of planned obsolescence. Online PC games generally have a long life span. Part of the reason is due to things like custom maps and the communities built around servers. Without these, people are more likely to jump on the next game in two years or so.

I'm surprised they all liked the story as much as they did. Maybe it has been so long since CoD4 that I am remembering it as more realistic than it actually was but I felt like that one could have been a real life war whereas this one took a huge leap into summer blockbuster movie-type plot.

I didn't even hear about the F.A.G.S PSA until I saw this episode. That's really dissappointing to hear Infinity Ward actually did something like that.

good god. i have not posted in months and right now the video is still playing but the 2012 review compelled me to return to comment. *Unbelievably* for the first time ever, I am with Dan on this and really don't get Jeff's serious take on this. If you came in with any expectations to this movie any different than Dan's super-suspension of disbelief, then I don't know what trailers you were watching. It is the same director as Independence Day...this is not Milos Forman.

Good actors? What has John Cusack done since Gross Pointe Blank? Did you see Danny Glover in Shooter? I love Woody, but reliving the days of People vs. Larry Flint he is not. And to think that you were going get serious characters in here is a joke and the Russian family is a testament to that.

There is not a disaster movie that exists that does not defy physics and believability. The highly mentioned Deep Impact...Elijah outran a 2 mile high wave traveling a mile a second on a dirtbike....with a passenger....uphill. The Day After Tomorrow...outrunning "frost" on foot and an oil tanker somehow making its way through the streets of New York? Don't get me started on Armageddon, Volcano, Dante's Peak, and Poseidon.

Was this a good movie? Absolutely not. But this is your quentissential Bad Movie Night movie...a guilty pleasure movie. Yes there were some parts that did make me go "oh come on" but every disaster movie does.

Lastly, I gotta say Jeff...I normally agree with you on a ton of stuff, but mentioning 9/11 in a review of this is just...for lack of a better word...naive. Tons of people die in every disaster movie, but no one ever should go into a disaster movie looking to correlate real tragedies to Hollywood fluff. Frankly if you go this movie with even a small part of you is expecting United 93, you could not be more off target.

Bad movie, guilty pleasure, fun if you just allow yourself to have it :)

great show, as always.

Im with Dan on 2012, and Im actually suprised that Alex didnt like the flick, as he usually is down for the 'meat and potatoes' type stuff.

Great COD review, and i couldnt agree more with just about everything you said.

And thanks for the info on tuneup!
