Does Criterion's Need for Speed Hot Pursuit inject new life into the racing franchise, or are we burned out?

The creators of the Burnout arcade racing series bring their breakneck speed and spectacular crashes to EA's popular Need for Speed franchise. They also tackle something new, allowing the player to experience both the speeding lawbreaker and the chasing police officer in Hot Pursuit. Do Alex, Dan, and Jeff get caught up in the ride, or is it a red light?
