I have a Macbook and most of the time it's hooked up to an external monitor that has a higher resolution than the Macbook does. When I'm not using the external monitor, all my windows are scattered all over the place. Is there some kind of application or anything that will automatically resize or correct the problem I'm having? It's not a big deal, but just wondering if there's something I can do about it.

i did this a couple of years ago when it first broke that osx worked on x86 architecture.

it worked well enough, but not enough to be used everyday. im sure it has progressed further along now rendering it more useful.

I used it years ago when it was called MyIE2. I think my favorite things were tabbed browsing, mouse gestures, and super drag & drop, because I had never used that stuff before.

Then I found StrokeIt which allows mouse gestures in any program, and saw that Firefox had extensions for super drag & drop as well as all kinds of other things so I switched and have been using Firefox ever since.

Yes I have heard this before, I think i had a wireless mouse and low batteries, the buzzing was coming from my speakers. I can not remember what I did to fix it, might have been drivers or something.

I just dont remember it was a long time ago, and also with XP.

I'm actually pretty green, not so much blind-although there's this right eye X ) .. how ever I am soaking up all this info and warnings from you guys like a sponge to split vodka. I'm getting drunnk on knowledge that I completely didn't have a day ago. I didn't pay much attention to resolution/cache until now. Thanks for the heads up :) and awesome amounts of help :D Now that I know what shared memory is, I think I'll avoid that as well. Is there any perk to such a thing?

I'm coming to more realistic terms about gaming on laptops, and I don't think I have the funds to run. I should make a video of me helplessly struggling (on the new laptop web cam XD) in attempt to game on a grand because I know I will have my moments where I will be like, " But if I could just do this I might be able to run..." and then cry when I fail. I'll prolly cave in a year or 3 and purchase a new desktop anyways XD. But I am hell bent on owning 'my first laptop'.

I did some research and discovered the core 2 duo would be my best investment as mentioned here. I'm hearing a lot of bad things about AMD now everywhere so I think I stay away this time around. I've been dedicating my time to figuring out the hardware these last couple of days, need to start studying the software. Also when purchasing a laptop I am definitely getting a cooling pad for it. The more disaster stories I see the more overly cautious I feel I need to be. However I wonder if there are just as terrible incompatibility issues with the cooling pads like the Nyko was for the XBOX 360.

This is very strange.. I figured a place like newegg would have little mini laptop processors and graphics cards one could use to upgrade their laptops with. That's sure some misconception I had about the ability to upgrade and repair laptops. Why don't these items exist I wonder. Besides the sea of screws, it would be slightly more convenient and cheaper in the long run. OoO Accessory kits *side tracked* My friend has an IBM think pad (1999) I could use if I could fix the scrolling screen issue.. Eh heh heh...

I actually went to Circuit City earlier today, first time. I only had enough time to play around on the Toshiba Satellite P305 -what I originally had my eye on. I must say I like the keyboard/touch pad alignment, but man is it a finger print magnet all over :S. I also, like a doof, didn't look around the edges and check to see where all the ports were located. I was way too excited.. and short. I could barely reach up high enough to enjoy the keys XD. Needless to say I'll be going back there, a lot.

I pretty much have until mid/late July to make up my mind and incur enough income.. wouldn't mind seeing a price drop between now and then *crosses fingers*. But the more I research on Toshiba the more iffy I get about getting a product from them. I'm the type of buyer, when/if I spend money (as much as I love techy toys!) I research for a long time.... I probably won't purchase another laptop for many years to come, sadly. But like I said I will probably crack and buy another desktop sometime within the next couple of years only because the one I'm on is a ghetto rigged 6 year old putter on life support.

I'm leaning towards the buying as much power as (affordably) possible because I will be so incredibly anal with it like I am with all my things I would hope that it will last a long healthy while XD. You know, give it a name, clean it often, something O.C.D. like that lolz. I'm a hermit so I would only be lugging it around with me on 'D&D' nights. I will be certain to get a safe carrying case.

I will definitely be looking for a more powerful processor and graphics card ( If I decide I even want to use the lappy for gaming anymore), higher resolution (or I may just downgrade to a 15 in, I'm a tiny person anyways).. So much stuff is still out in the air, but I'm feeling more... logical now. Less in love with the blue-green casing (that actually doesn't exist) and more in tune with the advice given to me here. I will be re-visiting this thread, re-thinking, checking out the other products, until I finally make a sound decision.
