Kyocera's back in the smartphone game with a high res Android smartphone, the Zio
Kyocera hasn't done smart phones in a while, but the smartphone pioneer is back with a low cost Google Android powered smartphone, the Zio. It should sell for $169 to $216 without a contact, that makes it a serious bargain given the hi-res 800x480 3.5 inch screen. (We also like that it's user upgradable to Android 2.1, the Zio will ship with 1.6.)
There's also an adequate 3.2 megapixel camera and a 600Mhz Qualcomm MSM7227 processor. Need more storage? The Zio accepts MicroSD cards up to 32 gigabytes in size.
This is a CDMA phone, we're told to look for it on networks like Cricket and MetroPCS in late spring, 2010.
