Cast Aways
Wednesday, October 7th, 2009 running time 09:56
Alex and Nate have convinced their friend Ray to return home to help them get famous on the Internet. Their first order of business: recording a podcast.
Segments
Meet Alex
Alex is a video game nerd that dreams of hitting it big on the Web. His description of content creation is not a very pleasant metaphor.
10 Degrees
Nate and Ray try to piece together a new game that could become an Internet fad: 10 Degrees of Andre the Giant.
On Richard Pryor
Nate and Ray arrive at Alex's to get ready for the podcast, where they have a discussion about the Superman movie franchise.
Make it so, Number One
The trio eye an expensive piece of equipment that Alex purchased for the podcast. Where does he even get the money from?
Casting Call
Having set up for the podcast, Alex, Nate and Ray try to figure out what the heck they're even going to talk about. Seinfeld-cast? Serenity-cast?
Fail-Cast
Sometimes it's hard to watch something go down in flames, but it doesn't stop us from pointing and laughing. Especially when it's a failed podcast. Or several failed podcasts.

Really? This is what Rev3 decided to do? Boring, not funny, lame.
Surely this will go the way of the rest of the garbage that used to be on Rev3 (i.e. Internet Superstar).

Man, I was really hoping for something better... there were a couple funny moments, but even they were worth nothing more than a light chuckle.
I know these guys aren't professional actors, but their acting is horrible. And because the show is so well produced, I expected better from them.
The trailer for the show made it seem much better... mainly because a couple scenes were changed in the final cut... and made less funny.
I hope the next episode is alot better.
(and in regards to the Internet Superstar comment above, Internet Superstar was much funnier than this show, and better than alot of shows still on Rev3...)

For now I think it's nothing special, but it's the first episode, I'll give them a few more. The idea isn't bad but the jokes aren't that funny either, or most of them.
Again, I'll give it a few more weeks.

I don't get why there were 2 "Why do you look like...?" jokes with the podcasting equipment.
That aside, this was really well produced and pretty funny. I found the HD-DVD unicorn joke particularly funny.
I will say, I think there's too much of that tranition where you move the camera. I have no idea what you call it, looks like a combination of moving the camera up/down/left/right with a "push" transition, is it?
And I felt like I heard that bridge music way way way too much for a 10 minute show.
Good stuff, I'll continue watching.

It was alright.
Nothing hilarious. I didn't laugh out loud one time, but I enjoyed it enough to watch it another couple episodes. I agree that the preview had funnier scenes that were not in the episode. The one where the bearded guy told Kevin Rose he wanted to be a part of his world was WAY funnier on the preview. In the actual episode it seemed like he was just reading some lines.Guys, I'm in Houston, give me a jingle and I'll help you with this.
