Portland's Lifesavas have no problem giving it up for their influences. Their newest album, Gutterfly, is the love letter to the Blaxploitation era and a soundtrack to a film that doesn't exist - yet. Here, Versatyl and Jumbo talk about the movies and actors that influenced the album - from Superfly to Black Caesar, from Pam Grier to Fred Williamson. The movie version of Gutterfly isn't a full-blown feature yet, but Jumbo and Versatyl have been in character as Bumpy Johnson and Sleepy Floyd and, as an added bonus, loaned us some of their self-produced scenes to preview in this episode!
